PREPAID SYSTEM

HOW CREDITS WORK

Why credits, how to top up, discounts by top-up amount, invoices and VAT. The service grid is on the Pricing page.

UNDERSTAND

THE CREDIT SYSTEM

ECUTuneFiles bills services in prepaid credits, not in euros per file at checkout. This page explains why, how to top up, what tiered pricing changes, and how invoices are issued.

1 credit equals 1 € at the standard rate. Discounts apply based on your top-up amount. Services are billed in credits: you top up the account on the portal, then each service debits the credits shown before confirmation. Discounts reduce the price paid when topping up, without changing how many credits a service costs. No mandatory subscription.

Exact service amounts and top-up discount tiers are shown on the client portal when ordering or topping up. The public grid is also available on the Pricing page.

KEY POINTS

  • 1 credit = 1 € (standard rate)

Cost of each service in credits, visible before confirmation. At the standard rate, 1 credit equals 1 €.

  • No expiry

Paid credits stay on the account. They do not expire.

  • Volume discounts

The larger the top-up, the lower the price paid per credit can be. The credit debit for a service does not change.

  • PDF invoice

Each top-up generates an invoice in the client area.

PRINCIPLE

WHY CREDITS?

A File Service does not treat every file the same way. Between a Stage, AdBlue or DPF/FAP delete, an option, or checksum correction, work and processing time differ. Pricing also changes by vehicle category.

If every job were paid separately, a workshop running many reads would multiply online payments and one-off invoices to reconcile. Prepaid credits group those operations into one top-up.

You top up once (or when the balance runs low), then spend as jobs come in. Each operation has a known cost before you start. Portal history stays clear: top-ups, debits, jobs.

For the workshop and the File Service alike, accounting centres on top-ups rather than one transaction per file.

WORKFLOW

A FULL CYCLE

From top-up to invoice, here is the concrete flow on the client portal.

  1. 01

    You top up the account

You choose the top-up amount. If it reaches a tier, the matching discount applies automatically. A PDF invoice is generated.

  2. 02

    You upload a read

ECU read with your tool, original file upload, service choice. Credit cost is shown before confirmation.

  3. 03

    Credits are debited

When processing starts, the balance is debited by the displayed amount. You know exactly what leaves the account for that case.

  4. 04

    The file is delivered

Automatic processing on eligible requests, or manual handling if needed. Download from the case on the portal.

  5. 05

Follow-up and support on the case

Revision or technical question: reopen the case on the portal with useful details. File support does not go through WhatsApp.

FIELD USE

PLAN CREDITS

You can fund the account days before sending a file. When the vehicle is on the ramp or with the customer, the balance is already there.

Paid credits remain available until used. Once the top-up is confirmed, they stay on the balance while the account is active.

The balance is already available when you send the file: you upload the read without another payment step, including on mobile interventions.

In the client area you find the balance, consumption history and invoices linked to top-ups.

VOLUME

TIERED PRICING

The discount does not change how many credits a service consumes. A Stage remains a Stage. What falls is the price paid for each credit when topping up.

Several tiers exist by top-up amount. A workshop that often tops up small amounts pays more per file than one that plans ahead and tops up larger amounts.

Tiers are those shown on the portal and apply according to the top-up amount. Exact amounts appear at purchase time.

In practice, the lever to optimise file cost is top-up size.

PORTAL

WHERE TO SEE PRICES

Credit costs by service and category (car, truck, agri / construction, motorcycle) are on the Pricing page. The final amount is confirmed in the portal basket before validation.

The same service does not always cost the same by vehicle category: underlying work differs by ECU. Option stacking rules, when they apply, are shown when you choose on the portal.

At confirmation, the portal basket is authoritative. This page explains the credit system. Debited amounts are those confirmed in the client area.

ACCOUNTING

INVOICES AND VAT

Each credit top-up generates a PDF invoice issued to your company name and available in your client area.

ECUTuneFiles is a French SARL subject to VAT. Invoices show company identity and applicable VAT; how you treat it (deduction, reverse charge) depends on your situation.

Paid credits do not expire: they remain on the balance while the account is active.

No cash refund of credits is possible. Any re-credits linked to a file case (defined technical cases) are described in our refund policy.

PLACE ORDER

Top up credits on the portal, then check the grid to anticipate the cost of each file.
